AutoAnvil (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates autoanvil.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you visit the site, subscribe to email updates, sign in, use site tools, or see advertising. It also describes our use of cookies and similar technologies, including cookies used for Google AdSense display advertising.

Who we are

Information we collect

Automatically collected data

When you visit AutoAnvil, our servers and service providers may record your IP address, browser type, device type, referring and exit pages, pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, and date/time stamps. We use this information to operate the site, diagnose problems, measure traffic, and improve content.

Cookies and similar technologies

We and our advertising, analytics, and affiliate partners store cookies, pixels, and local storage on your device. Cookies are small text files that help a site remember your browser, measure visits, and show or measure ads. You can instruct your browser to refuse cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. If you block cookies, some site features may not work as intended, and advertising may be less relevant.

Email subscriptions and accounts

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect the email address you provide so we can send automotive guides, tool reviews, and occasional offers. If you sign in, we send a one-time login link to the email address you provide and use that address to create or look up your account. You may unsubscribe from marketing email at any time using the link in those messages.

Contact and shop activity

If you use the Contact form, we collect the name, email address, subject, and message you submit so we can respond. If you buy a digital product, our payment processor collects the information needed to complete checkout. We receive confirmation of the purchase, product, and customer email so we can fulfill the order and send a receipt.

Ask the Forge chat

If you use the Ask the Forge assistant, your messages are processed to generate responses. We may retain transcripts for quality, product improvement, and model training. Chat transcripts are not sold. A consent notice is shown before the first chat. You may request deletion of chat data through the Contact page.

How we use information

We use collected information to operate and improve autoanvil.com, publish and measure editorial content, send email you requested, fulfill shop orders, prevent abuse, analyze usage, comply with law, and show or measure advertising as described below.

AutoAnvil uses Google AdSense to show third-party display advertising on blog and other content pages. Google is a third-party vendor.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to your website or other websites.

Google’s advertising cookie practices are described at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

Ads may be based on the content of the page you are viewing, your general location, your estimated interests, and prior visits. We do not sell your name or email address to advertisers. We do not control every cookie set by Google or its advertising partners.

Data retention

We keep newsletter addresses while you remain subscribed. Account and purchase records are kept as needed to fulfill orders, provide support, and meet legal or accounting requirements.
